Leave no stairs unclimbed.

A healthy idea to think about:

An elevator ride can’t offer the heart-pumping, weight-shedding, stress-busting benefits you get by taking the stairs. Opt for the stairs whenever possible and if your destination is many floors up, compromise by getting off the elevator a few floors early.

Consult with your physician before beginning any exercise regimen.

I try to do this faithfully, as many floors as it takes! I just moved into a 3rd floor walk-up apartment, and not only do I now have no choice about those stairs (no elevator!), I am only a mile and a half from my office. What a blessing! I've been walking to and from work, where I walk the stairs to my sixth floor cube. Then there is also walking my dogs, before and after work....I think I can add some yoga or weight training, and I'll be in great shape!

I also try to park as far away from any door when I am out shopping or even office parking. No one wants those spots and I can get an extra few steps in..... only when it's not raining!

Walking can also be relaxing . Take a walk on the ocean, lake, or in a park meditation can help you focus on your goals! It is something you can do all your life!

I no longer have stairs where I work but it made a big difference when I took the stairs. I went on a cruise and took the stairs the whole trip and didn't gain a pound.
