Hibernation isn’t in your vocabulary.

A healthy idea to think about:

When winter temperatures dip, acclimatize your walking routine — or any outdoor workout — with two simple tweaks. Warm up indoors to stoke your furnace and stay comfy by dressing in layers that you can shed as you heat up.

 

Consult with your physician before beginning any exercise regimen.

Thanks for the motivation tip. I HATE walking in the cold!  You would think I'd be ok in Texas, but just a DIP in the temp always gives me an excuse!

Great idea.  I have been walking outside, but thought I would have to switch to the YMCA now that the cold weather is hitting.  I'll try this, and maybe I can stay with the outdoor walking a little longer.

Great idea.  I keep hearing that it is more healthful to exercise outside because you are not around as many people who may be sick or getting sick.

I love walking in the cold. I wear 4 layers of shirts when it is really cold, plus a headband for my ears and gloves.  I look like the Michelin man but after a while I am warm enough to take off one or two layers.  Usually there is no one else walking or even out so it is very peaceful and the cold air feels so good on my face.
