On the Diet and Off the Diet

I just can't seem to stay on.  Once I start, it takes me about two days before I go back.  I don't want to kill myself eating diet stuff all the time, nor do I want to be in the supermarket counting the calories on the boxes all the time.

Does anyone have the same issue?  Do you just keep at it?

I find it easier to just eat healthy and not think diet. Cut out the high fat, high sugar, highly processed food. Eat lots of vegetables and fruit and food with grains. I seldom eat beef. Turkey, chicken and pork are okay in moderation. Drink lots of water! Hope that helps. Don't give up. You only have one body!

Are you planning to read and take part in the "You: On A Diet..." book discussion?

I've just read the introduction and chapter 1, and it sounds like the authors wrote the book for YOU...really.

I couldn't agree more, JHorn! I would advise you to pick up a copy of the book and read along with us and see if it helps.  Here is more info on the book.  Looking forward to discussing it!

It's been a struggle for me as well. We should just keep at it. I cannot be consistant with my diet or any kind of

exercise program. I try but don't stick to it.

It's interesting cuz the book that we're reading in the book club - You on a Diet - is really not about dieting.  It's really about a lifestyle and understanding what we're putting in our bodies......If you haven't picked up a copy yet of the book - there's still a great opportunity to join us in our weekly discussion.  It's super easy to read and there are some great tips and recipes you can use right away.  Check the book club over in the Health Blog section and check out Dell's blogs every Tuesday.  Hope you can make it to our next review.  Talk to you later.

Thanks!  It really helps to know there are others out there going through the same thing.  Now, I've heard of this Velasmooth thing... have you heard?  Apparently it's this great cellulite reduction treatment.  It costs about $100 (at least where I called) per treatment and it's supposed to work.  Have any of you had successful results in reducing cellulite, by just dieting and/or exercising?

Am I being too easy wanting to take the easy way out?  I want to change my lifestyle too. I'm picking up a copy of the book today, by the way.  But, on the other hand, I feel like it would jump start my diet/lifestyle by helping the way I look and feeling better about myself.

What do you guys think?  Should I give in?  Or should I just wait until I see no results from dieting and exercising?

Unfortunately, we all know that diets usually dont work....

    WHY DIETS DONT WORK!

what about you do a fiber cleanse for only 5 days, a five-day meal replacement program to help you make a clean break from fatty, high-glycemic foods and start making better choices for your health,

Check the info here, and if you like what you like it you can email or call me, my info is on the website

    Mayracruz,

I wanted to tell you about my experience with Velasmooth but with some background. First of all I hate dieting! As long as I tell myself that I'm "watching it" for a temporary period then I'm okay. If I tell myself I'm dieting then I'm extremely hungry for some reason. I "watched it" and exercised recently as part of a contest for 10 weeks and lost 23 pounds.

Now to Velasmooth - they want you to come in 2 to 3 times a week for 16 sessions. Which I did. I still have lots of cellulite. But they said "oh you probably need more sessions. (Just pay us.) I have seen more results from the exercising than I ever will with the Velasmooth. I recommend squats and lunges for the cellulite on your legs. It may be that if you are at the weight you want to be at then the Velasmooth works but I've noticed minimal results which of course they will say they don't guarantee any results. I still go only because I've paid for a package. You are seriously looking at anywhere from $3000 and up.

My advice - hire a personal trainer for about the same amount of money and you will see much better results. Or if you are flush with cash do both at the same time and watch your diet.

    Good luck!

Tania, just out of curiousity - can you tell me how many miles you walk every morning?
